It’s important to understand the differences between good and bad alcohols. None of our products contain bad alcohol.
Bad alcohols include specifically denatured alcohols (ethanol containing a denaturing agent). These are volatile, and though they have convenient quick-drying properties, they come with terrible long-term side effects. These alcohols dry out and weaken the skin’s surface.
Instead, we use the good alcohols—fatty alcohols like cetyl alcohol—in our cream bases. Cetyl alcohol is non-irritating and extremely beneficial to the skin. It’s suitable for dry skin and suits all skin types when used in small amounts. It gives our products a smooth texture and helps keep the ingredients stable.
